I’ve always believed songs are alive. They change over time. Every night on stage they feel a little different.
After All I Had came out, I kept coming back to these songs, not to rewrite them, but to listen again. To hear what they wanted to be now.
All I Had – Stripped isn’t a demo record. Some of these songs are just voice and guitar. Others have smaller, quieter band arrangements. Everything was recorded with the idea that the songs didn’t need more, they just needed space.
This version feels closer to how the songs were written, and closer to how I experience them today.
The record comes on a limited edition CD with an 8-page insert that includes the lyrics, so you can sit with the songs the same way I do.
If you’ve spent time with the original record, I think this gives you another way in. And if this is your first time hearing these songs, this is a pretty honest place to start.
